Description

EN10083-3 51CrV4 steel is a hardening alloy steel for quenching and tempering. Due to the high content of carbon element, it has poor weldability. Its material number is 1.8159.

51CrV4 (1.8159) spring steel has good mechanical properties and process performance, and has high hardenability. The addition of vanadium makes the steel grain fine, reduces overheat sensitivity, and improves strength and toughness. It has high fatigue strength and high yield ratio, but poor weldability and low plasticity due to cold deformation.
